What is Internal Family Systems Therapy?
Internal Family Systems therapy is a type of therapy pioneered in the US by Dr Richard Schwartz. It combines systems theory with the construct that a personality is made up of a variety of different parts. As a therapy it works by looking at and getting to know the different parts of the Self, what they intend or do for us and how they interact with each other.
It is a powerful form of therapy to process trauma and create a more harmonious relationship with ourselves and therefore with others in our lives.
I am trained to Level 3 in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and also participate as part of the staff team in many IFS trainings both in the UK and abroad.
I am currently completing my Certification in this way of working also.
